My Eczema Journey
Since childhood, I’ve faced a long battle with severe eczema that started when I was just 5 years old. By the time I turned 8, it had spread to my eyes and lips, leaving me feeling ugly, isolated, and insecure.
A Never-Ending Struggle
While many find relief from eczema by age 10, my journey took a different turn. My condition escalated, leading to monthly steroid injections, Prednisone, sleepless nights with ice gel packs, and even Xanax to manage relentless nighttime scratching. During this challenging period, I was navigating my career in the tech industry, first at Microsoft and later at DoubleClick, a Google company.
Battling MRSA
In 2008, I woke up with sharp, unbearable pain in my elbow, only to find I had a severe MRSA infection in my left arm. After five days in the hospital and intense treatment, I was left unable to use my arm for three months. But the battle didn’t end there—more MRSA infections followed, this time leaving me unable to walk for two months. With no clear answers from doctors, I took matters into my own hands and began experimenting with remedies in my kitchen, determined to find a solution.
The Transformation
At 40, I knew it was time to shift gears. I left my career in tech and pursued an aesthetician's license, driven by a desire to not only address my own skin struggles but also to help others facing similar challenges. During my training, I got my hands on a cutting-edge Dermalinfusion machine and began testing it on friends. With my license in hand, I merged this technology with other advanced modalities and active ingredients, creating the foundation for my skincare philosophy—and ultimately, the StackedSkincare brand.
